Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts Student Association
KTU Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts Representation SHM is a team of initiative and active students that has been operating since 2014. It was formed from the former KTU faculty student representations SOMSA and HUMSA, which operated in the separate faculties of Social Sciences and Humanities until 2013. Now, FSA SHM works for the benefit of the KTU SHMMF students - competent members take care of students' social, academic, and cultural affairs. The coordinators team, operating in various fields, and accredited members, in collaboration with faculty students and administration, organize various initiatives, events, address arising issues, and actively engage in the process of improving student welfare.
At the beginning of September, we invite first-year students to a camp that allows them to make new acquaintances, gain new experiences, and learn more about themselves. In the fall, FSA SHM is joined by new faces of first-year students, who during the first semester get acquainted with their faculty representation, various committees, and other activities. At the beginning of spring, a new chairman and team are elected, taking the leadership of the representation into their own hands. At the end of spring, the social affairs coordinator selects mentors for the incoming first-year students in the fall. Selected senior students help younger ones get to know the university, its offered opportunities, and integrate more easily into student life.
Throughout the year, FSA SHM organizes and participates in other training sessions or seminars organized by other entities - thus the coordinators team and members raise their competencies and grow their knowledge. FSA SHM also organizes an annual event "Me, You, and Music" - a cozy music evening where rising talented performers can be seen, and the last evenings of summer can be enjoyed.
